Amadou Diarra

Amadou Diarra, Ph.D., brings over three decades of global expertise in healthcare innovation, policy, government affairs, philanthropy, patient advocacy and strategic governance. His career spans executive leadership, complex P&L management, board leadership and policy-driven transformation, underscored by a commitment to health equity and innovation.

Dr. Diarra began his career at Bristol Myers Squibb, retiring as Senior Vice President of Global Policy, Advocacy and Government Affairs. In this role, he spearheaded efforts to foster pro-patient and pro-innovation environments worldwide, successfully influencing major healthcare reforms and enhancing the equity and sustainability of healthcare delivery.

Dr. Diarra has also served as a member of the Science and Technology in Society Forum, a member of the U.S. Chamber Board of Directors, Chair of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America International Section Executive Committee, Chair of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations Council and Chair of the BioNJ Board. He received the 2024 Heart of BioNJ Award for his exceptional efforts on behalf of patients.

Currently, Dr. Diarra serves as Independent Director (Finance Committee Chair) of the Max Foundation Board, a member of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association Board and as an advisor to the BioNJ Board. He holds a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Tours and an MBA in Management from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Tours.
