Samantha Majerus is the Chief Communications Officer at Friends of the Global Fight. She leads the communications team and develops communication strategies to advance the organization’s policy and advocacy goals. She has over a decade of experience in nonprofit communications and international development.
Prior to joining Friends, she worked with the U.S. Global Development Lab at the U.S. Agency for International Development, developing international campaigns to promote the Agency’s prizes and challenges, providing media relations support to the Lab’s social enterprise grantees, and managing social media channels. Previously, she was a Director at Spitfire Strategies, where she helped nonprofit and foundation clients achieve policy and behavior change goals through strategic communications. At Spitfire, she worked on issues ranging from children’s health to surveillance reform and criminal justice.
Samantha also led U.S. communications for the British Council, the U.K.’s public diplomacy organization, and started her career in the marketing department at National Journal.
She graduated from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs.
