Protecting civil society’s critical role in HIV and TB programs during and beyond donor transition: Actions needed from Congress, the Administration and the Global Fund

Civil society organizations (CSOs) play a crucial role in fighting epidemics — driving community engagement, extending the reach of health systems and delivering lifesaving services to vulnerable populations.
A new report from Pharos Global Health Advisors, co-published with Friends of the Global Fight, examines the financial landscape facing CSOs and highlights the steps governments and donors can take to strengthen CSO sustainability, drawing on case studies from Guyana, Botswana, North Macedonia, India and Montenegro.
As the health financing landscape shifts toward domestic leadership, the report finds that CSOs must be included in transition planning to sustain progress against AIDS, TB and malaria and drive successful transitions to country leadership.
