Statement on the National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Bill

Below is a statement from Friends President and CEO Chris Collins on the fiscal year 2027 National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations bill:

Thank you to Chairman Diaz-Balart and Ranking Member Frankel for the Committee’s intention, as noted in the report, “to fulfill the United States pledge for the current replenishment cycle,” given sufficient matching funds.

Friends looks forward to working with the House and Senate to secure one third of the $4.6 billion U.S. pledge to the Global Fund’s 8th replenishment in final fiscal year 2027 appropriations legislation. Continued U.S. leadership in the Global Fund will save millions of lives from the world’s deadliest infectious diseases while setting up countries for successful transitions to increased local ownership.
