210 Faith Leaders Urge Congress to Support $2 Billion for the Global Fund in FY24

Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) and 210 members of the Faith-Based Coalition for the Global Fund, including Rick and Kay Warren, sent a letter to the Chair and Ranking Member of the Senate and House Appropriations Committees and Subcommittees on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs to voice their support for an appropriations request of $2 billion for the Global Fund in fiscal year 2024.

The letter states, “Given heightened needs of those most vulnerable to AIDS, TB and malaria in the wake of COVID-19, and inevitable arising pandemics, we ask that Congress commit funding in fiscal year 2024 to the Global Fund at a level of $2 billion. As every human, made in the image of their creator, is of equal, immeasurable value, the Global Fund promotes their chance to survive and thrive in very measurable ways.”
